Questions about Rostr
A little more detail before you bring your group.
Getting your group together
Do people need the app to join?
No. They can open your event link in a browser. They’ll verify their mobile number before joining.
Can I use Rostr for a weekly group?
Yes. Set up a repeating event and share the same link each week. People choose which dates to join. On Free, signups for the next date open after the previous date ends.
Can someone bring a friend?
Yes, if the organizer allows guests. Guests count toward the event’s limit and can have a different signup status from the person bringing them. That person manages their guests’ spots.
What does confirmed mean?
A confirmed spot counts toward the event’s numbers. If the event needs a minimum or complete groups, some people may be Pending until enough people join. A confirmed spot means they’re on the roster, rather than checked in at the event.
What happens when an event is full?
If the organizer enables a waitlist, people can wait for a spot. While signups are open, people move up when there’s room and the event has the numbers it needs. After signups close, a replacement spot must be claimed by an eligible person.
Plans and payment
What can I do for free?
Create as many events as you like and keep one event or repeating series active at a time, with up to 20 spots per date, including guests. Repeating events, basic checklists and one co-organizer per group are included. Joining events and helping as a co-organizer are free.
Can I switch my active Free event?
Yes. You’ll review the change first: switching cancels the old event’s remaining dates and stops its repeats. Past dates stay in your history. If you want several events to stay active, choose Plus.
Can I try a Plus feature?
One lifetime Plus event credit is available when you first enable a Plus feature, with no card required. It covers the first upcoming date. Later dates need paid Plus while Plus features stay enabled. Canceling the covered date doesn’t restore the credit.
Updates, privacy and changes
Who can see my event?
Anyone with the event link can view it, so share it with the people you intend to invite. Your account contact details aren’t published on the attendee list.
Will Rostr text my group?
Event texts require opt-in and Plus coverage. Plus includes 500 regular and 100 essential text segments per subscription month; the event credit includes 100 regular and 50 essential segments total. There are no automatic overage charges. Sign-in codes are separate.
What if plans change?
People can leave an event, and organizers can change or cancel it. Leaving releases that person’s checklist commitments. Canceling an event doesn’t cancel a Plus subscription; manage subscription renewal in your account or through the store where you purchased.
Does Rostr book courts or venues?
No. Your group makes bookings directly with the venue. Plus reservation coordination helps you keep track of those arrangements; it doesn’t make or cancel a booking for you.
